Helmet replacing padding

Postby gforce29 on Mon Feb 08, 2010 6:00 pm

Need to know places to get this done. Just got a Hasek style helmet and need to get the padding replaced. Also need to get blocker re-palmed, any place in Buffalo do either? Any websites or info would greatly be appreciated.

Not in Buffalo but I know Warwick in Port Huron, MI sells the Hasek style helmet so I'm sure you could send it out to him and get it repadded. Heard nothing but great things about Warwick.

I'm guessing Warwick is going to charge an arm and a leg. Why not buy a sheet of foam, place the old foam on top, and trace around it, then glue it back in yourself?

Just checked the site, repadding is $145 thru Warwick. So there's your baseline.

You're talking about a Cooper SK2000, right? Maybe talk to Andre at DreMask. He's on the Battram board. He seems to know quite a bit about foams.

Yeah,it is a Winnwell helmet but is the same shell it has a black plastic inner piece that the foam is connected to. Missing foam on one temple, so I was thinking about just replacing it all.

Well, that's Goalie Monkey for you. They don't even tell you the dimensions of the padding in the item description. :roll:
From the picture, it could be maybe 4x6"? Thicknesses of 1/4" and 3/8"?

Its really simple to do gforce. Take out the old stuff and really is just a case of tracing and cutting then super gluing it back in. As for the palm on your blocker if your already handy with a needle and thread that pretty straight forward too.

Apparently Nash Sports are a good source for replacement thing like blocker palms, foam and the sorts. I'll try and find you their email as i dont believe they have a website.
EDIT
Found their details;

NASH SPORTS MANUFACTURING LTD.
R.R.#1 Lakefield Ontario K0L 2H0 Canada
Tel: 705-657-9420 Fax: 705-657-1325
nash@pipcom.com

Heres their web page as well but its not too great;
